Shaw Contract will unveil its new Bold Moves carpet tile series at two key education trade shows this fall. The debut will take place at EDspaces in Kansas City, Missouri, at booth 2635, before moving to A4LE LearningSCAPES 2026 in Seattle from November 4–7, where it will occupy booth 405.
The line targets K-12 and higher education settings with 24 x 24-inch tiles featuring accent striping, textured surfaces, and a cohesive color scheme. It integrates with Shaw Contract’s Color Code ceramic tile, enabling smooth transitions between floor and wall finishes. The modular design also supports mixed-material layouts without visual disruption.
Installation efficiency is a defining advantage. The No Rules design allows tiles to be positioned in any orientation, cutting labor time and costs. Gradual tonal shifts further reduce replacement complexity by removing the need to replicate original layouts. Schools can order tiles on demand rather than maintaining full palettes.
The collection also solves common challenges in high-use educational spaces. Its EcoWorx M backing mitigates subfloor moisture issues, potentially bypassing moisture testing requirements in some installations. Shaw Contract’s guidelines permit reuse of existing adhesive during updates.
Acoustic performance meets 52 RC sound rating standards, limiting noise transmission between adjacent rooms—a priority in classrooms and study areas. Environmental credentials include carbon-neutral manufacturing, Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze certification, and compliance with the Living Building Challenge Red List. The nylon fiber, EcoSolution Q100, consists entirely of recycled pre-consumer materials, while the backing incorporates up to 68% recycled content.
Sara Hudson, Shaw Contract’s education and government marketing director, explained that the collection balances creative flexibility with the resilience needed in schools.
Hudson added that the backing system’s moisture resistance addresses a persistent problem in school renovations, where delayed projects often stem from subfloor testing delays. The modular approach also aligns with sustainability goals by reducing waste from overstocked tile inventories.
Shaw Contract’s marketing materials highlight the collection’s dual functionality: it serves as both an aesthetic upgrade and a practical solution for maintenance-heavy environments. The Living Building Challenge compliance positions it as a choice for institutions pursuing net-zero certification.
